Sex Symbols: A Look at the Growing Fascination With the "Booty"

In the 1940’s, it was Hollywood’s so-called “sweater girls” who came to represent the American ideal of “sexy.”  Known for their hour-glass figures, women like Jane Russell, Lana Turner, and Rita Hayworth, while considered beauties in their own rights, were largely set apart as sex symbols by their prominent breasts.  During the 1950’s, the attention shifted to women like Jane Mansfield, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marilyn Monroe, who while slighter in build, were considered no less voluptuous, their breasts no-less attention-grabbing.  But today it's all about the butt.  Take a look at the growing fascination with the "booty."  Read More . . .
